Included in Tuition
Beer & Wine Training in New Orleans
Complete beer and wine certification courses at New Orleans Bartending School — included in your tuition, divided into two comprehensive programs.
The Course
Two Complete Certification Courses
As a bartender, you need to know how to mix fabulous cocktails — but also be expert in beer and wine for patrons who appreciate these beverages. The training is divided into two separate courses.
After completing both courses, you will receive a certification for each — credentials that bar managers are actively seeking.
New Orleans is unlike any other bar market in America. Bourbon Street alone employs thousands of bartenders serving millions of visitors every year. But the real money is in the craft — the French Quarter's historic hotel bars, the Magazine Street neighborhood spots, and the upscale Warehouse District venues where serious cocktail culture thrives.
What You Learn
Course Modules
Wine Training
Exploration of wine and how it is made, grape varietals and food pairing, wine regions, and the proper serving — storage, bottle presentation, opening, and the pour.
Beer Education
How beer is made, aged, and what ingredients differentiate styles. Different glassware for beer and pairing beer with certain foods.
Distilled Spirits
Distillation process, ingredients, and regions. After completing this lesson you will be able to distinguish a liqueur from a cordial.
Bar Equipment & Glassware
Naming your bar equipment, different glassware you will serve cocktails in, and what garnishments accompany each cocktail.
Mixing Techniques
Different mixing techniques for rocks drinks, shooters, coffee drinks, martinis, and frozen drinks — demonstrated behind an actual bar.
Certification
You will receive a certification at the end of each course — credentials that all bar managers seek in a professional bartender.
